Walking
Deep in conversation.
We went walking on the weekend around the local psychiatric clinic (it used to be a sanitorium back in the day and has lovely grounds).

There are times when my kids drive me crazy, but most of the time I love them to bits.
On Sunday morning Bruno and I stumbled bleary-eyed downstairs to find that Max had set the table for breakfast, all by himself and of his own volition, with cups and saucers and glasses and plates and even the bread board, bread knife and loaf of bread! I was so impressed. And then after breakfast he got dressed, brushed his teeth and made his bed. !!!! Aliens, I would like my real child back now please, it was cute for a day but now it's kind of scary.
Now all we have to do is teach him how to make coffee and pancakes and then all of a sudden our weekends will be just like the old days, ie, BC (Before Children).
Now that Max can read and write (of course he is better at German, but his english reading and writing is not too bad either), when he wants our attention for something (or to complain about something, more usually) he will yell out 'M-U-M-M-Y!' or 'D-A-D-D-Y!'. That's funnier than it sounds, believe me. I have to praise him for such good verbal usage, it's very emphatic.
In other news, well, there's not much other 'noteworthy' news other than the usual. We are having a series of parties at our house, which are lots of fun. There are lots of events planned for the next few months, weeks away, segregated weekends away (women off to Prague, the boys off to do one of these roads), garage sales, work plans, visitors (can't wait to see you mum and dad!) and so on. Life is busy but good.
I can't wait for springtime proper, I feel the need to be out and about.
Adamski and his girlfriend, the lovely and incredibly photogenic Aurelie, came to stay on the weekend. Much food and fun was had by all.
Come again anytime!
'm a little light-obsessed at the moment. Yesterday afternoon saw the most gorgeous light filtering through the trees into our front garden. I took about a thousand photos, all much the same, because the light made everything seem more beautiful.
Here is another one of the back of Lolly's head.
Where was Max? gaming away with 2 friends, bubbles are so for 4 year olds!
Someone got a new bike on Saturday!
Of course, it's pink...
She rode her bike for the first time today, and enjoyed it (she has previously wanted nothing to do with it).
Lolly crept into bed with me last night and this morning I couldn't bear to wake her up, she was sleeping so peacefully.
She's got bruno's feet, long and narrow with the second toe as long as the first.
All throughout my English lesson this morning it snowed heavily - this after weeks of gorgeous spring weather. I had to scrape off at least 20 cm of snow from my car before I could pick Lola up from spielgruppe.
Lola used to love having her photo taken, or at least didn't run away screaming when I pointed the camera at her. Now, I'm lucky if I can snap off a shot before she flees the scene.
I like the directness of her look here, although I have to resist the urge to brush the hair away from her eyes.
With a mouthful of yoghurt, looking somehow grown-up.
