We drove home at the end of our holiday under this blazing setting sky.

Unfortunately the gorgeousity didn't last long - none of that lovely lingering summer twilight business this end of winter.

I was grateful for it, despite the shortness of its appearance.

I bought this sweet white shirt yesterday.

School and kindy are finished for two weeks - commence the sleeping in!!!

Max is going to the mountains with Bruno's parents on Monday, and Lola, Bruno and I will join them next Sunday.

Lola and I will be having a girl's week as Bruno is working a lot at the moment. I am planning some escapes for the two of us - London, Paris, Rome, who knows?!

Siren song

Coming up the stairs from the washing room today, I had the mistaken impression that Franz Ferdinand had somehow incorporated loud blasting sirens into their latest album...but no, it was just the annual siren testing that occurs throughout Switzerland on the first Wednesday of February at 1.30pm (those swiss! so organised! so punctual!) - y'know, in case of war, fire, tidal wave, freak weather patterns, delayed trains or other disasters necessitating mass evacuation. 

Check out these vids of the siren test from previous years! It's kind of disturbing if you don't have any idea of what is going on.

Got attacked by my nail polish-wielding mini-fashionista this afternoon.

I see a promising future ahead of her - as a graffiti artist, perhaps??

Slightly disturbing...

....Lola's squeal of delight as she came across a feature article on handbags as she trawled through a magazine looking for pictures to cut out for a collage (I had helpfully suggested flowers, plants, trees or animals).

I blame it all on Lola's many other mothers (Paula, Francis, Manuela - you know I'm looking at you!). She ain't getting that enthusiasm from me!
