We went to Grindelwald on the weekend for some alpine air.
Had to leave early because part of the glacier that sits above the town broke away and fell into the lake of melt water that forms in front of it every summer. The danger was that the dam would break and more than one million cubic metres of water would rush out and flood the town and valley below. Scary! It all turned out to be ok, but the flashing lights and helicopters flying overhead all added to the sense of emergency.

Eep! I was thinking about you and your fam. Relieved to hear you made it home safely, and hopefully you managed to have some fun despite the threat of imminent danger.
