School holiday syndrome - the eternal question of what to do to keep the kidlets amused. We got up super late this morning after an impromptu bbq with the neighbours, so we didn't have too much time. Remembered going to the Jucker Farm last autumn and decided to go and pick some strawberries.

The Jucker Farm is a cool place to hang out with kids - very easy going and with lots of simple pleasures - picking fruit, seeing some farm animals, a walk down to the lake, or just hanging out in the hammocks strung between the orchard trees with a home-made ice-cream. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

Siblings, Summer 2009

We went to the mountains last week for holidays, and as usual stopped on the way there at a rest stop overlooking gorgeous Montreaux and Lake Geneva.

Also as usual, I took lots of pics of the kiddies.

One thing out of the ordinary: I was driving. The weather was so great that Bruno dusted off the Moto Guzzi and did a few of the mountain passes (biker heaven). I don't really like to drive long distances but was quite chuffed that we arrived and returned safely.

We had a lovely time but now that we are back Max has been stricken with the dreaded Strep throat, poor babe. So it's been quiet times in the Kitschenette household since.

Placebo, Locarno

Oh, yes - I must confess a secret weakness for boys with eyeliner. I blame it all on my parents' penchant for Queen amidst all the Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers.
We saw Placebo in Locarno last night - they were awesome! It was a beautiful venue - a cobbled square in the middle of the old city.

Off to the Valais tomorrow for the rest of the week. Looking forward to eating juicy delicious apricots (it is apricot season in Switzerland, and the best come from the Valais), breathing in some fresh pure mountain air, a spot of hiking, and of course a stop at the Friday market in Sion (gorgeous local produce).

I'm thinking of my mum and dad a lot - this time last year we were travelling around Italy and Switzerland with them, having a great time. The year has gone by so quickly, and we miss them still so so much.

In motion

Day one of a one-week intensive photo course (in German!). Tired, but feeling happy. I learnt lots - we did a lot of experimenting with speed and motion and I really (finally) found my way around my camera in that respect.
Tomorrow, white balance and studio work.

Just back from a great weekend in Amsterdam. We struck it lucky with the weather and had 3 perfect days of blue sky, sunshine, friends and just the right amount of museum/gallery visiting.
